2018 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

polls are open between 10 am - 8 pm at the Mallorytown legion
Advance Vote: Friday, october 12, 2018 from 11 am until 5 pm at the Township office
Beginning September 4, 2018, individuals will be able to verify that their name is on the Voter’s List for the upcoming Municipal Elections by visiting or calling the Front of Yonge Township Office between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:30 pm.
If you need to be added to the Voters' List or update your information, please fill out the form listed below and bring it to the Township Office with proof of residency and proof of age.
Voting for Municipal Councillors and French Separate School Board Trustee (only those who are supporters of the French Catholic School Board can vote for the French Separate School Board Trustee) will be held on MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2018 at the Mallorytown Legion, 13 Quabbin Rd, Mallorytown, between the hours of 10 am to 8 pm.
Advance Voting will take place on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm, at the Township Office, 1514 County Rd 2, Mallorytown.
INFORMATION FOR VOTERS
Offices for which voting will be held:
Councillor: Four (4) to be elected
French Separate School board Trustee: One (1) to be elected
Councillor: Margaret Fancy, Richard Marcoux, Carson Massey, Jeff Poole, Gail Williams
French Separate School Board Trustee: Edwil Fleury, Anouk Tremblay
Mayor: Roger Haley
English Public School Board Trustee: John McAllister
English Separate School Board Trustee: Robin Reil
French Public School Board Trustee: Rachel Laforest
If you are unable to attend a voting place on any of the dates set for voting, you may appoint someone to act as your proxy. This person must be an eligible elector in Front of Yonge Township. In order to appoint a proxy, you and the person you want to appoint must fill out an appointment form. The person voting on your behalf must attend the clerk's office to have the appointment form certified. The appointment form can be obtained at the Clerk's office or from the link below.
Who May Vote:
A person is entitled to vote in a municipal election if they are a qualified elector. That means, on voting day, you must be:
- a Canadian citizen
- at least 18 years of age on election day
- residing in the municipality, or is the owner or tenant of land there, or a spouse of such owner or tenant
- any person not prohibited by law from voting
Proof of identity and residence must be presented, showing your name, qualifying address and signature. Examples include Ontario driver's license or photo health card.
ALL CANDIDATES MEETING
The Junetown Women's Institute is sponsoring an All Candidates Meeting at the Mallorytown Community Centre on October 2, 2018 at 7 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
